korean-based designer seungji mun has created ‘four brothers’ a furniture collection consisting of four chairs that are created from a single piece of 4′ x 8′ (2400 x 1200) wooden plate. the pieces utilize the entire sheet of plywood with no loss or waste to the material. mun, has made several designs in which customers can select according to their needs and requirements. it enables the seats to be made from a single pattern yet produces four separate designs.

the products take into consideration labor and cost as it is able to be manufactured through mass production and CNC (computer numerical control) manufacturing. the reductionist pieces are suitable for communities and public institutions such as performance halls, lecture spaces or benches in the public setting.

‘ ‘four brothers’ is eco-friendly composed of material to working process and only use conventional techniques to realize this project. we can obtain a lot of products through low capital.’ – seungji mun
