Chair, Rocker, Cubby, Stool, and reconfigurable components

gypsy is a line of furniture that assembles with no tools and no hardware. friction joints are machined directly into mdf and baltic birch components. components are designed to be interchangeable, so that you can mix, match, reconfigure the style as well as function of set. gypsy was motivated by the need for mobility in the semi nomadic lifestyle of college students, and inspired by modular systems such as linkin logs, legos, and k’nex

components are designed to minimize waste, yielding handfuls of sawdust when the parts are done. the original precursor to the gypsy line had to be designed from my factory dorm in china, emailed to the us, manufactured simply, and shipped to canada. all of this helped yield a product sensitive to the logistics and primed for an international market.
