‘stack + slit’ by hatsumi hirano

‘stack + slit’ is a table developed by japanese design student hatsumi hirano studying at the tokyo metropolitan university. the project itself derives its name from the concepts by which it is based – stacking and fitting into one another seamlessly. composed of four units, each equal in dimension, the pieces can be overlapped via their ‘slit and slot’ surfaces into a single table with a flat plane. their structure allows them to be arranged in multiple configurations.
