detail showing scale and flowing underside form

the stool by henry lawrence studio is created from a half wood, half rubber mould. the wooden part gives it the straight outer form and the rubber gives a flowing impression on the interior. the pouring of the concrete is only strictly controlled on the exterior part. the size of the object depends on the size of the rubber cast sheet. the poured material is allowed to form itself, the flexibility of the forming process, would allow the flowing texture to be on the exterior of the stool as well.

recently shown as a part of dutch design week, stools can be made in many different colour variations.
