‘yayoi’ by kazuhiro minami
conceived by japanese designer kazuhiro minami, ‘yayoi’, is an altar which surrounds buddha stepwise by deep frames and a pedestal, emphasizing the elemental depth of shape, color and materials. coated in a a synthetic resin known as ‘cashew’, the final form draws in users to concentrate on the sculpture. people can place it on a shelf or chest, suited to a modern japanese lifestyle for small spaces.
