Relationship Cup by BCXSY

Next week the 2nd exposition of our project Masculine/Feminine which will open in city of Porto at Mundano Objectos Gallery (RUA DE SANTOS POUSADA 668).

The project itself began with the invention of a ceramic oven that can work with a flame from candle (800-1100 Celsius), because of its very small burn capacity it has been nick-named – The Ceramic Crumb Oven. More information about it is available at: http://www.yoad.info/pages/28.php

To discover what can be done with it 6 leading young and international design duos from Holland & Portugal have joined forces and began experimenting with firing clay in these ceramic crumb ovens. These Design duos are: BCXSY (NL), Design Drift (NL), Jung&Joons (NL+KOR), Pedrita (PT), Janine Braun & Pedro Almeida (PT) and Yoad David Luxembourg and Daniela Pais (NL+PT)

This project has been titled/themed Masculine/Feminine, and all of the participating design duos – being formed from male and female partners – had to design an object or a mini collection around the title/theme.

The results are varied from LED Lamp fitting (inspired by early light bulbs)to to buttons that lovers can share, and can be viewed in detail with the help of a magnifying glass or (in extreme cases) a microscope.

The ceramic ovens themselves can be made with every day tools and are simple to build.
