attention to detail, a natural inclination to innovation, revolutionary expertise: these are the common features that highlight the joint (ad)venture of il casone, the leading producer of pietra serena sandstones, and lithos design, pioneer of the transformation of natural stone into the most refined design expressions. these elective affinities blossomed into an ambitious project. the designer raffaello galiotto made a keen and penetrating study on the expressive potential of this typical tuscan stone, revealing its most intrinsic and profound characteristics. the particular properties of this material, combined with a very sophisticated and completely automated working process (made possible by the latest technological innovations in the stone industry), result in these surprising, vertical surfaces on which light and shade interweave in a complex game of contrasts and levels. risma, vello, vena, tartan, crine, scorcio: the six textures composing the nuance collection are all created with modular tiles in cm 80x40x2 format.
