‘omans dead end road’ photography by manuel alvarez diestro

in oman, new residential areas are being built out side the main cities. dead end roads are laid on the grid before the new houses are built. photographer manuel alvarez diestro has driven thousands of kilometers in the middle-eastern country searching for them.

represented through images, the series takes a new angle on how human intervention interacts with territories. also, to elevate the aesthetic composition, topographic and anthropological considerations are utilized as the roads confront the landscape; becoming spaces for contemplation.
