Perched within the lush coastal landscape of Costa Rica’s Papagayo Peninsula, the Andaz Casa de Playa is a masterclass in coastal integration, designed by QBO3 Arquitectos. The beach club is structured around a modular volumetric composition that shapes an environment embodying relaxed elegance. At its core, the design emphasizes spatial clarity and a seamless flow between the central open-air pavilion and the beachfront, ensuring a fluid experience that culminates with uninterrupted views of the Pacific Ocean.

The heart of Andaz Casa de Playa by QBO3 Arquitectos is the central pavilion, conceived as the primary gathering space. This volume houses the main dining area and bar, acting as a transparent, open-air social anchor. Its elevated, light roofline offers framed views toward the ocean while inviting in natural ventilation and daylight. The pavilion opens directly onto the pool deck, where the interior blends effortlessly with the exterior in a fluid and uninterrupted gesture that extends the social experience toward the beachfront.

Flanking this central module are two secondary volumes. One is discreetly tucked away to house culinary and service functions, minimizing the visual presence of back-of-house operations. The entire entry sequence is carefully choreographed through a framed access corridor that defines a central axis aligned directly with the ocean. This axial gesture orients the visitor’s journey, reinforcing the spatial hierarchy and guiding guests in a procession that culminates with the reveal of the sea.
