beak (size m)

young german furniture designer, sascha bischoff, whose work is characterised by an elegant use of form and material, combined with an innovative thirst to reinterpret known forms to be altogether more surprising, presents his latest furniture project, beak – winner of a prestigious 2012 “universal design award” (http://www.ud-germany.de).

sascha sees this as a new furniture hybrid, a fusion of a small container for important everyday items such as keys, with a practical hanger for clothing or accessories.

an intensive development process enabled beak’s visual language to be refined and it was here where sascha intelligently incorporated the hidden compartment which can be accessed from the top of the item and is otherwise hidden from view.

sascha bischoff, a graduate of the barcelona university of design “elisava”, now based in munich first drew critical attention with his award winning lamp globo, a winner of the voilà award 2009.
