scoope design (elda bellone + davide carbone) have developed ’tilta floor lamp’, a fun way to make a light stand out in the home. available in both a pedestal and reading size, this object’s concrete base allows it to rotate at almost 360 degrees. it can lay on any of its octagonal shaped sides to produce an angle of 30 degrees for each surface. the mechanism is done by using the force of gravity along with its weight to control where it goes. the metal part on top of the bulb functions as a handle to allow the user to grab it and tilt it in any direction they choose. made from the basic building materials of concrete, wood, glass and aluminum, the ’tilta’ breaks away from the common perception of space in how it introduces a new suspended dimension in reaching out and embracing an unconventional third dimension.
