‘shaping tomorrow’ – a short film contrasting japanese culture by tim white

 

 

tim white, a filmmaker from melbourne, australia has created an intense, lightning fast experience of tokyo – highlighting the many contrasts of japanese society; in the young and old, traditional and contemporary, fast and slow, east and west, the film combines stop motion and live action footage into a breathtaking journey a foreigner’s time in the city. from the neon lit streets to the zen gardens, cute kids to graceful elderly folk, sumo to baseball, buddha to gundam. hundreds of shots were intricately cut together into this two and a half minute short.
