interpreting a classical sofa, this bachelor project, designed by lithuanian živilė lukšytė as part of the vilnius academy of arts, reflects an alternative attitude towards traditional furniture. ‘sofa rehabilitation’ is a dynamic piece that can be taken with you on the go, guaranteeing a comfortable place to sit in any location. the wooden pine frame, combined with rolls of plumbing pipes and waterproof textile casings gives a relaxing massage while sitting. the appearance is similar to that of waves in the water or a sky texture. a removable roof can be used to provide shelter from the sun, with specially designed hanger details for coats and bags. the sofa is a hybrid of two contrasting ideas, a rickshaw or barrow – symbolizing work and a resting chair that reflects entertainment and lounging.
