czech design studio deFORM has conceived ‘transmission’, an experimental lighting sculpture for glassworks company kavalier. as an effort to paraphrase the traditional symbol for the 2012 london olympic games, five rings act as the representatives for the five continents, as they interlace to symbolize union and universality. by using different diameters instead of colors, the conception becomes a single joined object at its center. the lighting development offers unpredictable and surprising lumino-kinetic effects from any viewing angle. the luminary has been featured at maison et objet spring 2014.
