considering architecture as an imaginary abstraction of inhabitancy and the institutionalization of the shack’s paradigm, none of the details is trivial nor are they chosen scales, which proves that references are taken from visual, organizational and political structures. the installation ‘super-block space and other species’ conceived by spanish designer rafael reveron-pojan, observes houses from a distance which resemble hives.

through the seduction of spatial hieroglyphics, the artist takes influence from utopian buildings, as the work reflects on the closer solutions of growth within shanty-town dwellings occupying the hills surrounding caracas.

most of the pieces are made out of cardboard, linking the idea of the empty box to the empty space, which is a paradigm of modern architecture. looking at material at the edge of the system, the insurmountable errors of the industrialization demonstrate our incapacity to imagine new models, decadence and sense of isolation.
