tokyo impressions – photo research in tokyo -fascinating photos about the dazzling street life in tokyo with a mixture of fashion, architecture, colors and urban life. an amazingly vibrant, extreme and exuberant city which always seems to be beyond the existing concepts and an inspiration pool for many creative people around the globe. see how tokyo creators get inspired by their daily surroundings, which is a patchwork of extremes and contrasts. new trends and designs are everywhere and street fashion constantly generate its own trends with unique twists of subcultural undertones which we will see on paris runway a year later.these research photos will give a very interesting insight how this amazing city is shaping tokyo’s creators. currently the photos are part of the exhibition ´japan fashion now´ at the museum at fit in new york city, until april 02/2011 (http://www.fitnyc.edu/8055.asp)

designer and photographer ulfert janssen ulfert janssen, born and raised in germany, is the founder and owner of gannet design (www.gannetdesign.com), a design and strategic consulting company based in barcelona, spain. he specializes in transportation design development, as well as product design, brand equity and communication consulting with clients in usa and various countries in europe.

prior to establishing gannet, ulfert janssen was a car designer at renault. during his 10-year tenure, he has helped to build up the strong reputation of renault’s design studio in barcelona as one of the key members, and was involved in all major advance design, concept models and pre- production projects. he has been also sent to renault’s overseas affiliates such as renault/ samsung motors in korea and nissan motor co., ltd. in japan, as an expatriate. he conducted special projects and developed production cars, including the infiniti fx.

he was also responsible for trend scouting in shanghai, tokyo and seoul where he made multiple trips as a photographer.
