on the pedestrian street in the historical center of lviv, ukraine, YOD group has designed ‘MAD bars house,’ a six-story venue that gathers five bars and restaurants under one roof. every floor functions as a different bar, but all share a common color palette and aesthetics. furthermore, each staircase features a mosaic pixel, showing the percentage of alcohol inherent in a particular floor, while increasing as the floor increases.YOD group designs a six-story conceptual bar within XIX century building in lviv, ukraine

to highlight the value of the XIX century building, YOD group left some brick walls partly uncovered. the interior of the project reveals respect for local culture and craft traditions. upon entering the building, the visitor starts from the ‘varvar  pub’ on the first floor. this level houses a long wooden bar counter without any joints, made from oak that used to be timber joists about 150 years ago, and screens with sports broadcasting.

‘to pay our tribute to the footwear workshop that had been located there a century ago, we made shoulders from wooden shoe lasts and wrapped all banisters with leather,’ says YOD group.YOD group designs a six-story conceptual bar within XIX century building in lviv, ukrainethe first floor – varvar pub – self-service area, clients can pour some beer into a glass and pay for it by themselves

custom-made glass lamps, vintage bauhaus chairs, and high shelves with wine bottles from all over the world complete the ‘win bar’ on the second floor. beside it a decorated wall appears, complete with wooden casting molds. following the stairs to the third floor, a pure and clear area opens ahead; light wood, white tiles, dimmed light clad the ‘wona restaurant,’ while an open kitchen is set in the same space as a stage for gastronomic shows. meanwhile, the fourth level takes the form of a big kitchen where all dishes for the different floor menus are being prepared.YOD group designs a six-story conceptual bar within XIX century building in lviv, ukrainethe second floor – win bar

on the fifth floor, the ‘buzz bar’ takes shape as a classical american bar with a square counter in the middle of the hall. a carpet with an artistic pattern clothes the floor, and rich light reflects the relief steel sloping ceiling. finally, the sixth floor is dubbed ‘molfar bar.’ its interior houses some dark glass bottles, deep lounge chairs, an open fireplace, furs, shadows, fragrances, and a chamber-like atmosphere.YOD group designs a six-story conceptual bar within XIX century building in lviv, ukrainethe sixth floor – molfar bar – a ukrainian bar mixology, where ingredients were prepared in its own laboratory from local herbs and plantsYOD group designs six-story conceptual bar within XIX century building in lviv, ukrainethe first floor – varvar pubYOD group designs six-story conceptual bar within XIX century building in lviv, ukrainethe second floor – win bar – the wall is decorated with wooden casting moldsYOD group designs six-story conceptual bar within XIX century building in lviv, ukrainethe third floor – wona restaurant – the open kitchenYOD group designs six-story conceptual bar within XIX century building in lviv, ukrainethe third floor – wona restaurantYOD group designs six-story conceptual bar within XIX century building in lviv, ukrainethe fifth floor – buzz bar – a classical american bar, with a stage and a DJ boothYOD group designs six-story conceptual bar within XIX century building in lviv, ukrainethe fifth floor – buzz barYOD group designs six-story conceptual bar within XIX century building in lviv, ukraine
