new zealand-based designer zachary moller has developed ‘apollo’ a flashlight and desk lamp for everyday. it is commonplace for a this object to linger hidden and obscured in daily life which becomes problematic when illumination is required. all of the electronic components are housed within an inner-sphere which enables a hollow handle. to change its function, the inner sphere is rolled back on itself to become a radiant lantern or directional spotlight. the intensity of the light can be varied by switching on the required number of LED.
