Cauny x Ando

The Cauny Ando, created in collaboration with legendary Japanese architect Tadao Ando, transforms one of his most personal symbols into a wearable object of design. Part of the Architects of Time series, the watch distills Ando’s minimalist architectural language into a small but expressive piece for the wrist.
The inspiration comes from a recurring motif in Ando’s work: the green apple, a metaphor for youth, curiosity, and the courage to keep imagining new possibilities. For Ando, youth is not a matter of age but a state of mind — an idea that shapes the concept behind the watch.
Its rounded case subtly recalls the shape of an apple, while the hands reference its natural elements: the minute hand resembles a leaf and the hour hand the stem of the fruit. The dial is intentionally free of traditional markers, creating a sense of visual calm that echoes the serenity and simplicity of Ando’s architecture.
The collection is available in two finishes and two case sizes, resulting in four variations of the same concept. The vibrant apple-green version expresses energy and optimism, while the brushed steel edition evokes the concrete surfaces that define many of Ando’s buildings.
Minimal yet expressive, the Cauny Ando is more than a timekeeping device. It is a small piece of architecture — an object that invites its wearer to experience time with clarity, imagination, and depth.
