Through observation and research during several trips to the city of Carrara, Italy, Selce Studio were overwhelmed by the proportion of the marble industry and of its waste and it soon became their goal to find a practical use for this waste and more generally for this material, as it is predominantly used for its aesthetic and perceived value.
The outcome is a cube shaped table lamp, made of clear acrylic and recycled marble dust. By leaving the dust free to move, the user is encouraged to interact with this product and by doing so to interact with the surrounding space and the way light affects it.
The placement of the light bulb in an off-centered position means that the lamp will throw a different amount of light depending on which face it is resting on.
This product is designed in the UK, and made in Italy.
Please note that for countries using 110-120V, the lamp can be used using a transformer.
