nove creates comfortable and glare-free indirect light

by  ALEXANDER PALME from Finland

Product Description

Nove creates comfortable and glare-free indirect light. The fastening screws of the shades are both decorational details and integral part of the structure. Three different materials available.

All parts of the lamp are shaping the light – either reflecting it or letting it through. The shades are preventing direct view to the lightsource, while also enabling internal and external reflections. All materials show their true character – nothing is painted.

The white opal acrylic version is illuminating more, whereas the aluminum and wooden versions give more intimate light. The aluminum version is entirely anodised. This allows a metallic feel, and satin-like finish that works well with light.

Finest finnish birch veneer is used for the wooden version. This is custom made from several thin layers, and the top layers on both sides are flamed instead of straight grain birch. Clear oil/wax surface finish.

The main frame is made of anodised aluminum, and has a 41 mm hole for the included lamp holder. This small edition of nine pieces is available with screw fastening, the next models have shades fastened with rivets. Please confirm by email the material you would like to have (acrylic, aluminium or wood).

  • Designing and creating have always been my passion. I specialize in making unique design, art and other creations using various materials and techniques. My approach is multi-disciplinary, and my creative work ranges from collector items to commercial projects. After design studies in Finland and international working experience including Werner Aisslinger and Design Continuum I received my MA- degree from Domus Academy, Italy in 2003. These experiences encouraged me to remain true to myself, and strengthened my determination to develop my own style. I treat materials honestly and show their character, for example I do not cover wood or metal with paint - instead I want to maintain a look and feel that is genuine and appropriate for the material.
