Landscape from landscape: Paintings inspired by the elemental energy of the landscape, made from natural and traditional materials found in the landscape. From the series Red Heart Summer Fire by artist Kerry Stevens.
The compositions describe the constantly changing elemental forces of the planet. The materials are poured onto birch panels in layers of shellac, wax, and natural pigments. Some panels have additional mark making from ink drawing or traces of smoke, contributing to their spontaneous and essential nature. They will last for generations.
Each piece is totally unique, created with techniques the artist developed living and working in New York City and Venice, Italy.
Sizes are 122 cm x 122 cm (48" x 48"). Other multi-panel configurations and sizes also available upon inquiry.
