21_21 DESIGN SIGHT is a museum in tokyo, japan, which opened in 2007. the institution was created by architect tadao ando, who designed the building, and designer issey miyake, the founder of the institution. located on the edge of a park, the museum has two galleries in the basement, gallery 1 & 2, which hold self-directed exhibitions, and gallery 3, next to the main building, where exhibitions by local and international companies and others are held. 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT's current directors are taku satoh and naoto fukasawa, and the associate director is noriko kawakami.
