POSTHUMAN UTOPIAS

What if humans were no longer the measure of all things?

POSTHUMAN UTOPIAS gathers stories on architects, designers and artists rethinking a world no longer designed exclusively around human needs. From buildings conceived for wildlife and materials grown with mycelium and algae, to algorithms restoring landscapes and technologies revealing the hidden rhythms of forests and oceans, this chapter explores new relationships between nature, technology and the built environment.

Moving between architecture, design, art and technology, we look at living materials, synthetic ecologies, regenerative landscapes and structures designed to return to the earth. Challenging the idea of human-centered progress, this chapter asks what becomes possible when we stop designing on the planet and start designing with it.

This chapter is presented in partnership with INDX|GLOBAL – a global cultural platform placing Indian architecture, design, and creative intelligence in conversation with the world.
