creative emergency responses includes a handpicked selection of initiatives, projects, and other kinds of actions undertaken by the creative community during, or in response to, the COVID-19 pandemic. inventive, experimental, and at times controversial, the projects and initiatives here are aimed at supporting and bringing people closer together at a time when nationwide lockdowns keep most of us confined within the walls of our homes. the responses may vary from tools and objects, to entire architectural structures; from institutional initiatives that keep the public engaged while their physical locations remain closed, to artists' messages of hope and ways of dealing with confinement. the projects proposed include medical masks, face shields and social distancing devices.
