david chipperfield architects, founded in 1984, has four offices in london, berlin, milan and shanghai. sir david chipperfield is an honorary fellow of both the american institute of architects and the bund deutscher architekten. in 2010, chipperfield was knighted for services to architecture in the UK and germany, and in 2011 received the RIBA royal gold medal for architecture. in 2013, chipperfield also received the praemium imperiale from the japan art association, given in recognition of a lifetime’s work.
