diller scofidio and renfro (DS+R) is an interdisciplinary design studio based in new york city that integrates architecture, the visual arts, and the performing arts. with a focus on cultural and civic projects, the firm aims to address the changing roles of institutions in developing cities. the practice is now led by four partners—founder elizabeth diller and ricardo scofidio, who started the firm in 1981. they were then joined by charles renfro and benjamin gilmartin.
