this 1956 porsche super speedster has recently come to our attention. recently listed on sotheby’s, to this day it remains a beautiful example of car design as well as an icon of the drive-in era. the factory paint is a special-order color known as glacier white (code 5713) and is nearly all original. it contributes to this car’s ice cool looks. the sleek postwar stylings made it stand out in the decade that some see as the hay-day of car design. it is one of just 645 super speedsters for the 1956 model year.

the car is a true ‘time capsule’; with only 35,302 original miles. built more than 60 years ago, the speedster spent most of its life carefully stored in a special garage space, and carefully maintained by its current owner and his personal friend, a vintage porsche specialist. it leaves the garage only occasionally to grace special events and car shows.
