it’s been quite the centenary for aston martin; a few months back, the british auto manufacturer released the 100th anniversary CC100 speedster concept, and now, they have introduced a topless version of their highly acclaimed vanquish, the 2014 vanquish vantage. retaining the coupe’s dynamic character and sporting capabilities, the two-door convertible boasts an AM11 6.0-litre V12 engine capable of producing 565 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. paired with a six-speed transmission, the sports car catapults from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.1 seconds before topping out at 295 km/h (183 mph). integrating a triple-skin lightweight fabric roof which takes just 14 seconds to fold, the vehicle is also the first fully carbon fibre-skinned volante in the brand’s 100-year history. additional styling cues such as the elegant waist, elongated side strakes and LED rear light blades reference the design of the one-77 supercar, which utilizes vertical horizontal architecture to provide a lightweight bonded aluminium structure that provides outstanding strength and rigidity.
