utilizing a sound system and rubber hose, illusionist brusspup defies gravity by vibrating 24hz sound frequencies from an ordinary speaker against the steady flow of water. as the video is recorded in 24 FPS, it appears that the stream moves up and down in slow motion –  distorting our perception of what is actually occurring. you have to watch the video to believe it.

  • Geniyotic!

    Shahaf says:
  • this could make for fantastic water features. I can see one in my office

    MAJOLA says:
  • You get that you cannot see this with your bare eyes … right? The only reason the illusion works is because the camera and the sound wave are moving at 24fps and 24htz respectively. Its a very old trick it can be done with a strobe too.

    CCA says:
  • i just wonder if such manipulation is harmful for the water, i know, it is just a frequency, but does it not stress the atoms?

    just wondering

    ovan says:
  • This is a great trick. but it is only a trick. the speaker moves the water hose to create the water feature. as for the frequency hurting the water, or stressing the atoms. um, ya, really?
