TECHNOLOGY THAT EXPANDS THE RANGE + FUNCTION OF OUR MOVEMENTS

Japanese company Skeletonics has unveiled its latest exoskeleton — the Arrive. Following the ethos of supporting the evolution of humankind by creating a new era of technology that expands the range and function of our movements, their latest model offers unique functions and new techniques. The larger than life robotic body structure features a striking futuristic design that expands to 9 feet in height.

For the first time since their inception in 2010, the team of award-winning inventors has succeeded in connecting the upper and lower body, reducing the burden on the wearer. ‘We’ve also dramatically reduced the suit-up time,’ said Skeletonics. ‘While wearing the Arrive, you’ll be able to move in ways impossible for humans to achieve alone.’

SKELETONICS USES MIRROR TECHNOLOGY TO REPLICATE HUMAN MOVEMENTS

Skeletonics uses a technology that connects the mechanical and electrical components of the suit with the wearer’s body to offer a smooth, harmonious experience of movement. The exoskeletons use mirror technology to replicate human movements. A link mechanism, not an electrical system, is used to synchronize human movements with those of the robot exoskeleton. The mirror technology can synchronize remotely and works with robots larger or smaller than humans.

Skeletonics applies a fusion of mechanics and electronics — mechatronics technology — to make more precise movements of the fingers. By combining these two technologies, the robots can express movement with greater precision and perform more complex functions.

When it comes to entertainment, the exterior look of a robot is critical. For performance, the lightest possible weight is necessary, so as not to degrade performance. To accomplish both these goals, the team frequently uses reinforced resin FRP for the robot exteriors. They state custom-design exteriors with minimal effects on their robots’ basic performance are also possible.
