at beijing motor show 2012, AUDI presents the ‘Q3 jinlong yufeng’ (‘golden dragon in the wind’), a special kitesurfing-themed concept variant of the Q3 SUV, the production model of which is available in china beginning this year. the name references the symbol of the year 2012 in the chinese zodiac, the water dragon.

the ‘Q3 jinlong yufeng’ is designed for kitesurfing enthusiasts, featuring two carbon fiber-reinforced polymer kiteboards mounted to the vehicle’s roof, with a kite pouch (for storing the kite itself) and two ‘audi cam’ sport cameras stored in the interior. the ‘audi cams’ can be mounted to the sail bar or helmet, transmitted to the car via WLAN and then sendable via the car’s bluetooth phone to other devices.

the SUV is finished on the exterior in ‘liuli yellow’, and inside with a combination of black, gray, and yellow, with leather seating with contrasting stitching. the front radiator grille features vertical aluminum struts in a wave-shaped pattern, while the rear of the vehicle integrates two flush tailpipes into the diffuser. the front cross-bar of the roof rail integrates small LED spotlights to illuminate the area surrounding the car.
