in celebration of the 30th birthday of the sport quattro, AUDI will present the successor to the 1983 Ur-quattro during frankfurt’s 2013 motor show. originally designed as a homologation model for the world rally championship in the 80’s, the new ‘AUDI sport quattro concept’ will incorporate a plug-in hybrid drive system capable of producing 700 horsepower and 590.05 lb-ft of torque from its 4.0 liter TFSI twin-turbo V8 engine. when the V8 and the electric motor work together, the sports car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds.

for the exterior, the coupe combines the DNA of the 1983 Ur-quattro; the overhangs are short, the proportions are balanced and has a wide road stance, perching over 21-inch wheels. the front is characterized by a hexagonal single-frame grille, with two large, vertical blades that divide the large air inlet. at the rear, features like rectangular tail lights and a CFPR diffuser are defined by the combination of a flat greenhouse and a spoiler that extends from the hatch at higher speeds.
