using a virtual reality headset, the AUDI ‘VR experience’ integrates digital technologies into automotive retail to enable customers to configure their preferred model. it showcases the four rings’ complete range of cars with customizable options, such as: colors, leathers, inlays and even infotainment systems. the new sales tool which will be introduced to dealerships by the end of 2015, ensures that the observer feels fully integrated within the scene by allowing them to virtually sit behind the wheel or check out the trunk.

luca de meo, member of the board of management for sales and marketing at AUDI AG, who presented the AUDI ‘VR experience’ earlier this week at the north american international auto show in detroit, said: ‘hand in hand with our dealers, we are bringing digital innovations into the dealership in order to improve convenience and to provide even better advice. with the AUDI VR experience, we are once again demonstrating the pioneering role of the four rings in this area.’


to complete this fully immersed reality, customers are also provided with high-end bang & olufsen headphones to transmit a range of acoustics from the sound of doors closing to the noise from the advanced sound system. the automotive company aim to expand the possibilities of the technology in the future, through using it as a mobile solution rather than just at dealerships.
