in an age of ipod and mp3s the record turntable is defiantly a nostalgic piece of audio equipment, but designer joel scilley is reinventing them using wood. scilley uses pieces of wood, cutting them and embedding the various electronic parts. the result is a series of unusual record players that showcase the materials and turn the device into something more timeless than retro. but scilley isn’t all about the music formats of the past either. he has also made a series of wooden ipod docks, which utilize the standard white cord and two pieces of wood to hold up the device.
