handcrafted bandit9 EVE 2020 motorcycle is a beautiful, dark reality

there’s always two sides to a story… when bandit9 were tasked by lane crawford to reinterpret their famed EVE motorcycle, their imagination sprung two polarising concepts. the LUX showcased an accessible, softer vision of luxury. in contrast, the bandit9 EVE 2020 is equally as futuristic but takes the principles of luxury to the extreme. it is limited to just nine hand-built pieces, each one made with ‘beauty, purpose and dark intent’.

the EVE 2020 has a much hostile look thanks to the blacked-out finish, engine cover and front cowl, daryl villaneuva, bandit9 CEO, told designboom.it looks like a submarine or a missile – like a weapon in a way. the drop in height and how the bike is visually heavier on the back adds to aggression of the bike.

like every one of their motorcycles, the bandit9 EVE 2020 is a road-legal sculpture of highly experienced design and craftsmanship. its modern, streamlined unibody is handcrafted from stainless steel, just like its front cowl and turbine engine cover. these sit alongside custom front forks, speedometer, exhaust, foot pegs and shifter, grips and flat gas cap.

the design is a luxurious, bold form with seamless, sweeping lines, from its front cowl to its leather teardrop saddle. it combines two defining elements of bandit9: the iconic side silhouette of the EVE with the turbine engine cover first seen in the L concept. this adds an image of absolute power with its space-age sculpture. the model then adorns a black-out colorway to complete the dramatic aesthetic.

like the LUX model, the EVE 2020 features a semi-automatic engine with 125cc displacement, which is housed inside its turbine. this pushes the 140 kg-weight motorcycle to a speed of 68 mph (110 kmh). the result is a black vision that pairs a highly dramatic performance with effortless luxury.
