the ‘EVE’ is an important motorcycle to bandit9. originally launched in 2014, the ‘EVE’ is the pièce de résistance of the company’s space-age fleet. it is their starship enterprise, their millennium falcon. exhibited in museums and galleries in the US; sweden; dubai; japan; and bespoke built for the M.A.D. gallery in switzerland,  the ‘EVE’ has fast become an instant classic and collector’s item. it encapsulates bandit9’s optimistic vision of the future and its defiance to motorcycle categories. now the vietnamese motorcycle atelier introduces the stylishly dark evolution of its most popular motorcycle: the ‘EVE liquid black’.

the bandit9 ‘EVE liquid black’ retains its predecessor’s bullet-shaped tank. the simplicity in the form is iconic; it’s a wonder how it hadn’t been created before. it has taken hundreds of man-hours to perfect the craft of bending a singular sheet of stainless steel into the ‘EVE’s’ extreme unibody. the seamless flow of the lines from the fuel tank to the teardrop seat to the rear vertex puts the elegant motorcycle into a class of its own. built entirely by hand, there is an air of artisanal commitment that surrounds the ‘EVE liquid black’. celebrating the bikes exclusivity, this is a limited edition with only nine units to be made.

the black bullet cowl is one of the major updates to the original. made from refined steel, it was designed to bring continuity of the lines to the front of the motorcycle. not a single hard edge can be found on the ‘EVE liquid black’. a small high-powered spotlight sits at the tip of the cowl allowing for better night visibility. the finish isn’t glossy black paint; it’s black chrome. the stainless steel foundation of the bike goes through a rigorous cleaning process to remove any and all imperfections. the metal is then softly polished for hours to further remove any debris from the surface. it is then submerged into a special ‘black‘ chrome bath. the result is a sexy piano black finish. because of the black chrome’s reflective properties,  the weight and quality of the steel behind it are truly felt. the new ‘liquid black’ brings the ‘EVE’ an understated elegance. unlike its chrome predecessor, it does not appear like a delicate piece of machinery too fine for the road. it’s meant to be ridden. it wants to be.

it’s no secret bandit9 draws inspiration from science fiction and the ‘EVE liquid black’ is no exception. it’s easy to see the bike takes a cue from h.r. giger’s biomechanical paintings. and it’s not hard to imagine the ‘EVE liquid black’ as a part kaneda’s gang in neo tokyo. the ‘EVE liquid black’ has presence as both a graceful piece of motorcycle machinery and art. whether it’s standing still or on the road, the seductive ‘liquid black’ literally gets the pulse racing.

  • It IS a long ride. Seriously tho’, fun for a concept, but I see no taillights, no turn-signals, mirrors…all that stuff will have to hang off your jacket and helmet.
