danish luxury electronics company bang and olufsen has been synonymous with the art of acoustic speakers. with the ‘beoplay 90’ speaker, they’re raising the bar of craftsmanship and tuning with a multitude of technologies and provide listeners with clarity, range and sound in a 360-degree design.  

 the speakers provide 360-degree sound

the design comes from cologne-based studio frackenpohl poulheimthe, where the team has outfitted the loudspeaker with 18 drivers placed in carefully defined locations and directions to deliver maximum performance in frequency time and space. the loudspeaker packs a combination of 14 channels of the latest generation amplifiers that deliver up to 8200 watts per loudspeaker.  

the structure is made of aluminum and wood

the bang and olufsen ’beolab 90’ is designed according to the overall idea that form follows function. the placement of the fins was chosen to ensure that the rising heat could have no impact on the sound experience. the layout is based on a complex aluminum cabinet with an outer skin made of acoustically transparent fabric stretched in front of the driver units.
