at CES 2016 in las vegas, big ass solutions unveiled a new branch of ‘haiku home’ products entrenched in connected home technology. the portfolio now boasts an automated ceiling fan and intelligent lighting fixtures. each operates automatically and efficiently on its own, reacting to human presence, changing temperatures and ambient light levels. the ‘haiku’ wall control automates and connects all the products from one convenient location. it enables the company’s ‘senseME’ technology wirelessly for products that don’t carry it natively. when batched, users gain the benefits of a fully receptive home. in addition to its acclaimed integration with the nest thermostat, ‘haiku home’ will also have planned integrations with amazon’s ‘echo’ and LIFX’s ‘white 800’.

‘IoT (internet of things) means something different to us; it isn’t about connected rice cookers or turning your phone into a remote control,’ explains alex reed, vice president of product for the new division. ‘we formed haiku home to deliver thoughtfully designed products and meaningful, technology-driven benefits: convenience, comfort and energy conservation without sacrifice.’
