the BLACKTEA electric moped combines vintage design with off-road performance

with the ‘BLACKTEA’ moped, munich-based designer viktor sommer wants to show the world that lightweight electric two wheelers can be sexy and fun to drive. suitable for adventures both on and off-road, the sleek, vintage-styled vehicle offers an exciting way to get around town or explore the great outdoors. on BLACKTEA, you can avoid the traffic and park directly at your destination to discover new paths off the beaten track.

BLACKTEA is designed for two passengers and can store two batteries, helping your adventures last longer. the moped is built with a high performance hub motor and can reach a top speed of 50 mph (80 km/h). the clean and quiet characteristics of the bike offer new possibilities without disturbing the environment. go faster and farther than any bicycle and get to places motorcycles can’t.

inspired by open source resources of the IT industry, the team at BLACKTEA motorbikes will develop a manual and a video series for the moped. this will allow everyone to repair their moped without an existing workshop network, and design it to their own taste. the BLACKTEA moped is street legal in the US and EU, and to find out more about the vehicle, you can visit the crowdfunding page here.
