presented ahead of the north american internation auto show in detroit, BMW has unveiled the M4, a successor to the fourth-generation M3 coupe, which originally debuted in 2007. paired with a six-cylinder twin turbocharged in-line engine that produces 431 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox, the two-door sports car launches from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds. low-slung and precisely crafted, the coupe boasts large air intakes and air curtains at its front end, exposing the carbon-fiber reinforced plastic and aluminum body components that enhance the vehicle’s aerodynamics. a contoured roof line with central channel continues into the rear boot, emphasizing the sophisticated personality of the newly designed M4.

‘the superior performance of the bmw M4 coupe should be obvious at first glance,’ explains karim habib, head of design BMW. ‘the exterior design of the new BMW M4 has a visual impact that elevates the company’s M design language to a new level of expression, highlighted by a purposeful character, emotional appeal and dynamic verve,’ he adds.
