CES 2011: lenovo's LePad, a windows 7 android combo

lenovo‘s LePad, presented at CES 2011, is hybrid in terms of both hardware and software. usable as an android standalone tablet, the device can also function as a standard laptop running windows 7 when connected to the company’s u1 hybrid dock.

as a tablet, the 10.1-inch LePad uses a custom android operating system called LeOS. for hardware it features front and rear cameras, a headphone jack, and mini-USB port.

the device can be adapted for use as a more traditional laptop by connecting it to the dock of the idea pad hybrid tablet, (now called the u1 hybrid dock), which lenovo debuted at CES 2010.

the dock contains a keyboard, touchpad mouse, additional ports, and separate battery. when connected to the idea pad base, LePad boots into the windows 7 home premium operating system.

LePad can be used independently as an android tablet, or with the dock as a windows laptop
