something about the headlights and grill of an automobile is not unlike a face, each with a different personality and expression — which begs the question, do cars have an anima? it is a question particularly poignant with the subjects of a recent collection by photographers WE! shoot it, who feature a lineup including an aston martin db5, and a jaguar e type, among many others. this collection of beautifully-curated photos displays these vehicles in their lairs, and is aptly named ‘sleeping beauties’. these cars, whose only purpose is to move fast, are depicted here in a rare moment of immobility.

unlike the countless photos on dealer sites, featuring cars in garages from standard vantages often taken hastily, these photos are carefully curated to show what these vehicles look like in moments of silence and calm. these photos help us experience the personal satisfaction one must feel from owning these rare cars and having them adorn one’s garage. they illustrate rare moments for discoing beauty in ordinary places with extraordinary vehicles.
