developed in collaboration between coca-cola and will.i.am as an initiative to educate consumers about recycling choices, the ‘ekocycle’ brand introduces a series of accessories including headphones, smartphone cases and clothing that utilizes up-to 100% plastic and aluminum waste as the source for material. containing 31% recycled materials, the beats by dre headphones incorporate an assortment of three different recycled PET plastics while still delivering consistent sound precision by using materials that would have otherwise been considered waste. levi’s has done the same by taking advantage of the fact that polyester is the byproduct of waste thermoplastics – combining an average of eight different recycled plastic bottles per pair of jeans to conceived a limited edition collection of the ‘501 waist-less jean’.
