based on a digital platform that controls and interacts with a physical cooking machine, the ‘collaborative cooking’ project by christian isberg, petter johansson kukacka, lasse korsgaard and carl berglöf explores the future of food preparation. the system works as a framework for discussion and performance. the structure is linked with a mechanism that translates digital dialogue into a form of input, which is created by those who contribute to the project and is later processed by the machine.

the input is gathered from the participants — five chefs — who take part through their own computers, collectively cooking from different locations to make one dish together. the machine is specifically built for this purpose; it has a unique interface that the user remotely operates. the cooking machine has 35 different functions/ ingredients that have been carefully selected though a collaboration with chef carl berglöf. each ingredient has its own purpose and place.
