VIFA, a manufacturer of wireless and portable high-quality loudspeakers which was originally founded in the early 1930s, have introduced their first line of wireless loudspeakers. conceived in a joint collaboration with danish innovation and design consultancy design-people, the ‘copenhagen’, incorporates refined craftsmanship, and premium textiles. the ‘copenhagen’ boasts bluetooth, apple airplay or DLNA connectivity, and almost any cell phone, tablet and computer can pair to the cable-free device. the speaker comes available in six selected colors; sunset red, sand yellow, ocean blue, ice blue, anthracite grey, and pebble grey, and is produced using high-quality wool from kvadrat.

  • Simplicity in design is never easily done. One can appreciate the fine line work and the craftsmanship that goes into this product but once the device is set in place the handle reminds us of the fact that it is meant to be moved.
    While the handle adds a beautiful continuation of the line around the speaker was it absolutely necessary for it to remain a visual element once the speaker is set in place? A handle that ‘disappeared’ and became a part of the case would have been much more magical (to me).
