cowboy is an affordable, light and sleek electric bike with removable battery

founded in 2017, cowboy is a belgian start-up with the mission of transforming urban mobility. with electric bikes traditionally viewed as expensive, cumbersome and poorly-designed, the brussels-based company is reinventing the category by making well-designed, high-performance, connected, electric bikes, priced incomparably.

created for urban commuters, the cowboy electric bike features an intelligent motor-assistance system that has built-in sensor technology, measuring speed and torque. this technology adjusts intuitively to pedalling style and force, delivering an added boost of motor-assisted speed at key moments: when you start pedalling, when you accelerate, or when you go uphill.

the battery gives riders the freedom to roam for up to 70km, and takes just 3.5 hours to fully charge. easy to remove, it has been integrated into the frame under the saddle. together, the bike and battering weigh in at 16.1kg, making cowboy one of the lightest electric bikes on the market. alongside design and efficiency, safety is cowboy’s top priority. the electric bike has integrated front and rear LED lights, with the rear one intensifying when decelerating or braking.

‘we designed the cowboy bike to appeal specifically to people who are yet to be convinced that electric bikes are a practical and mainstream mode of transport,’ says adrien roose, cowboy’s CEO. ‘we focused our attention on the three main reasons people are reluctant to purchase electric bikes: high cost, poor design and redundant technology – or a combination of the above – and we set about fixing them all. today we have a bike that is not only exciting to ride – with intuitive and automatic motor assistance – but safe – with integrated front, rear and brake lights – secure, connected, beautifully and sleekly designed and one of the lightest urban electric bikes on the market.’

    Julie says:
  • I can barely get by that promo photo. …what in the Euro were they thinking?! A rider without a helmet is simply stoopid, but to place a passenger in a position where they cannot even break a wrist to save a skull fracture should brand this company as commercial carnivores. I would question the their quality of materials and construction if this is the attitude presented to sell product.
