introducing the world’s first edible wearable, the ‘wearable banana’ by dole food company, debuts at the 2015 tokyo marathon on february 22nd. the device can measure and show the runner’s heart rate, lap time and even support messages that are sent through social media sites. these figures are visualized directly onto the peel so that after the race, the user can freely eat it. as the sponsor of the event since 2008, the american distributor’s smart fruit aims to ensure that marathoners can finish mentally and physically energized.
