the ‘itanks’ bosch motor can travel from 0–28 mph in 4.6 seconds, while its removable lithium-ion batteries have an official range of 62 miles and charge in 6 hours. it can climb at a 15-degree incline without losing power. designed to cruise throughout neighborhoods, it also serves as transportation in areas where people wouldn’t necessarily want to walk, such as golf courses and marinas.

ram believes this is the ‘architecture of the future’, due to the shrinking nature of car sizes and the huge spike the sharing economy has seen in recent years. he believes that with reduced form factors for each person, fours wheels are too much; two wheels are unstable for the aging population; therefore three wheels will provide the optimum solution.

he notes that two wheeled scooters enhance cultural aspects for many people in india and europe, however, he senses that scooters are perceived to be too dangerous in america due to a lack of stability. while introducing a well-designed three-wheeled electric scooter, he firmly believes that smaller, personal vehicles are going to be the future of urban mobility. doohan ‘EV3 itank’ is reaching out for funding via its kickstarter campaign, which can be viewed here.
