flies where no other drone has flown before

cleo robotics’ dronut X1, the world’s first bi-rotor drone and smallest in its class, is now available for sale. the donut-shaped drone comes in a compact design with its propellers integrated into its body. with its small silhouette that can fit in the palm of your hand, it can safely bounce off around people, in tight spaces, and near sensitive equipment. apart from the fact that it can not harm the spectators, its robust shell —weighing almost 425 grams— will not be damaged if bumped into obstacles or walls.

dronut X1 comes with autonomous navigation technologies

along with safeness and collision tolerance, the boston-based company placed great importance on sensing and intelligence. the dronut X1 is powered by qualcomm snapdragon and is provided with a set of cutting-edge sensors including a high-resolution 4K camera, 3D LIDAR, global shutter camera for precise positioning, LED headlights for navigation in low-light or darkness, and an advanced computing platform.

for government and commercial use, dronut costs 9,800 dollars, and as described, it is able for flights in GPS-denied environments, difficult-to-reach and hazardous spaces. the device can also be remotely steered via a smartphone-connected joystick controller with almost no training required.
